Ok, took apart my front driveshaft, and the double cardan joint i'm trying to rebuild. It took me longer to write this than it did to r+r the 2 joints the second time. Carefully (as to not knock over the needle bearings inside the ball) install the second half of the joint, making sure to line your marks up.
If you need to change the ball (not likely) locate a short bolt, total length no longer than the diameter of the ball. Oem toyota parts, made in japan. It is often referred to simply as a cv joint.
